59 - PA:Towing Services for Department of Public Works

The purpose and intent of this specification is to describe and obtain, a price agreement for towing services, winching, off road recovery and rates for associated labor for the City of Springfield Department of Public Works. Services will be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Estimated Cost per year is $9,000.00.

Quotes for towing will be from within City boundaries and include the Springfield Landfill located off Rt. 5 in Agawam MA, to the Springfield DPW Garage Division located at 70 Tapley Street, or to a designated location within City boundaries. No mileage will be charged within the City boundaries. An additional rate per mile charge will be quoted for towing beyond City boundaries.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase at least seven business days prior to bid opening.
