305 - PA: Security, Video and Access Control Systems Updates, Upgrades, New/Expansions and Installations
End date: Thursday May 22, 2008 at 2 p.m.The Springfield Public Schools, in conjunction with the City of Springfield, is soliciting a bid for a one (1) year contract with a two (2) year renewal provision to provide "Updates, Upgrades, New/Expansions and Installations" for its security, video surveillance and access control systems needs at all current and new facilities. In order for a vendor to provide these services, any vendor submitting a bid must be capable of utilizing all existing components owned by the City. Supplemental equipment substitution cost is not a provision of this bid/contract. Vendor must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the monitoring of impact audio activated systems.
The estimated cost is $500,000.00 per year.
A 5% Certified Check, Letter of Credit or Bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 100% Performance Bond & Payment Bond shall be required from successful bidder. A letter of credit will be considered from successful bidder in lieu of bonds. Surety bonds will only be accepted from Surety Companies licensed by the Division of Insurance to Transact Business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The conditions of employment and minimum wage rates as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under the contract. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates as per MGL Chapter 149, Sections 26-27G. Vendor must posses a current D.C.A.M. certificate.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts.
The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least seven business days prior to the expiration of the time set for filing proposals.
