233 - Services: Demolition/Deconstruction of Eight Properties
End date: Wednesday March 26, 2008 at 2 p.m.Plans and specifications are available weekdays, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A non-refundable deposit of $35.00 in the form of a certified or bank check to the order of "The City of Springfield, MA" is required. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bids will be available at the Department of Purchase on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008.
Demolition or deconstruction of each specified building plus any other building(s) on the same premises. The specified building addresses: 8 Arlington Street, 10 Arlington Street, 96 Chestnut Street - Indian Orchard, 31-33 Eagle Street, 91 Larchmont Street, 79-81 Princeton Street, 9-11 Warner Street and 88 Westford Circle. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended, and other applicable statutes. Estimated cost of project is Three Hundred Thousand ($300,000.00) Dollars.
Site Visit
Sites will be open and available for inspection on March 12, 2008 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Bidders may contact Mr. Carl Dietz, Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, at 413-787-6500.
All bidders are advised that the minimum wage rate schedule, issued by the Division of Occupational Safety is included in the specifications and shall prevail in the work on this project.
All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourage the use of Minority and Women owned Business (MWBE). The City's goal is twenty percent MWBE participation.
Deadline for Questions
All questions regarding the specifications or drawings of this request or of the process of this procurement shall be addressed, in writing to the Chief Procurement Officer and received by the close of business on March 14, 2008. Facsimile communications are acceptable.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 10 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
