036 - PA: Rock Salt

The City of Springfield Department of Public Works is going out to bid for approximately 10,000 tons of Rock Salt. Period of Agreement is from November 1, 2007 - October 31, 2008. The total estimated cost is $450,000.00.

A 5% Certified Check, Letter of Credit or Bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 100% Performance bond shall be required from successful bidder. A letter of credit will be considered from successful bidder in lieu of bonds. Surety bonds will only be accepted by surety companies licensed by the division of insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

All questions regarding the specifications or process of the bid must be in writing to the attention of the Deputy Purchasing Agent and must be received no later than seven working days prior to bid opening.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts

The Deputy Purchasing Agent reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
