247 - Beverage Concessions at the Barney Carriage House & Emma's House

Facility Descriptions: The Barney Carriage House in Forest Park is a City of Springfield owned and operated function hall located at 200 Trafton Road Springfield, Massachusetts 01108. Emma's House is located on the property adjacent to Camp Wilder, 1464 Parker Street, Springfield, Massachusetts 01109. Proposer must have the capability to accommodate outdoor/indoor events at the above mentioned location(s) upon request with any additional equipment including but limited to portable beverage equipment, units, and staffing. Mobile unit concessions and building concessions (fixed to a building or structure) may be requested by the Owner.

The Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management is seeking proposals from qualified individuals, corporations or business entities (whether for profit or non-profit) to operate, manage and maintain a beverage concession facility at the above referenced Barney Carriage House and Emma's House. The successful proposal will, at minimum, be licensed to serve alcoholic beverages and concessions, provide affordable, high quality beverage items for consumption in a formal/semi-formal/business casual/casual atmosphere(s) during an operating season of January 1 - December 31, possibly seven days per week. Please refer to Appendix B to see a past event calendar of events and the number of guests in attendance.

The concession area is required to be properly outfitted by the Proposer and is required to meet all applicable requirements of law, including health and safety codes and regulations. The concession must be fully prepared to open by a date to be established by the Department but no later than May 1, 2007 (unless such a later date is specifically approved by the Owner).

A site visit will be conducted on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. starting at Barney Carriage House, 200 Trafton Road, Springfield, MA 01108. Bidders may contact Paula Lynch, Banquet Manager at the Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management (413) 787-7733.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
