237 - Pavement Improvements - Residential Streets 2007

End date: Wednesday March 14, 2007 at 2 p.m.

A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 in the form of a certified or bank check payable to the "City of Springfield, MA" is required for each Project Manual including specifications. A non-refundable check, to the order of "Department of Purchase", in the amount of $10.00 is required to parties requesting the documents be mailed. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening date.

A 5% certified check. Letter of credit or bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 100% performance bond and labor and materials bond shall be required from successful bidder. Surety bonds will only be accepted from surety companies licensed by the Division of Insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract.

BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED THRU THE MASSACHUSETTS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT. CONTRACTORS MUST PRESENT THEIR MHD PREQUALIFICATION APPROVAL FORM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PURCHASE PRIOR TO RECEIVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.

Estimated cost of the project: $2,560,000.00

Paving of approximately 76,666 LF of residential streets, full depth excavation and reconstruction of 3,100 SY of roadway and construction of approximately 3, 100 SY of concrete sidewalks and handicap ramps and associated work at various locations throughout the City.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase no later than March 5, 2007 by 4:00 P.M.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
