140 - PA: Roofing Services: Intermittent Projects & Emergency Repairs
End date: Thursday November 16, 2006 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield is requesting bids from multiple Roofing Companies who have licensed Roofers in the State of Massachusetts, for emergency repairs and replacement of roofs for various schools and public buildings. The vendors shall provide all labor, materials and equipment associated with emergency roofing repairs, removal and new roofing installation, as needed at various schools and public buildings owned by the City of Springfield, under the supervision of the Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management-Facilities Division.
Bidding procedures shall be per M.G.L. Chapter 149, section 44A to 44L, inclusive, as amended and other applicable laws. The Price Agreement's base term is for one year with an estimated 3,000 hours of intermittent vendor service (depending on need) and an estimated value of $750,000 per year, and shall be awarded to multiple vendors. Agreement has an option to renew for two additional one year terms. The work of this project shall be governed by the Prevailing Wage Rate schedule as issued by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and included in the bid documents
A 5% Certified Check, Letter of Credit or Bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 100% Performance and Labor and Materials bond shall be required from successful bidder. A letter of credit will be considered from successful bidder in lieu of bonds. Surety bonds will only be accepted by surety companies licensed by the division of insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
