100 - Services: Demolition/Deconstruction of Two (2) Properties
End date: Wednesday November 1, 2006 at 2 p.m.Plans and specifications are available weekdays, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. A non-refundable deposit of $10.00 in the form of a certified or bank check to the order of "The City of Springfield, MA" is required. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bids will be available at the Department of Purchase on Wednesday, September 27, 2006.
Demolition or deconstruction of each specified building plus any other building(s) on the same premises. The specified building addresses: 14-16 Buckingham Street and 4 Quebec Street. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended, and other applicable statutes. Estimated cost of project is One Hundred Sixty Five Thousand ($165,000.) dollars.
Site Visit
Sites will be open and available for inspection on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bidders may contact Mr. Carl Dietz, Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, at 413-787-6500.
All bidders are advised that the minimum wage rate schedule, issued by the Division of Occupational Safety is included in the specifications and shall prevail in the work on this project.
All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourage the use of Minority and Women owned Business (MWBE) and that the City will not enter into an agreement with any provider of goods or services who has not demonstrated a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty percent MWBE participation.
Deadline for Questions
All questions regarding the specifications or drawings of this request or of the process of this procurement shall be addressed, in writing to the Chief Procurement Officer and received by the close of business on Friday, October 20, 2006. Facsimile communications are acceptable.
The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids if it be in the public interest to do so.
