271A - Annual Price Agreement for Elevator Maintenance & Repairs
End date: Thursday June 22, 2006 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield Massachusetts wishes to enter into an elevator maintenance contract and twenty four (24) hour emergency repair service for elevators and chair lifts, at a variety of locations, for the period of July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. The agreement may be renewable for two (2) additional one-year terms.
The estimated cost is two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) a year. Bids for this contract are subject to the provisions of MGL Chapter 149 and any other applicable laws.
A 5 % bid surety must accompany each bid, in the form of a Certified Check, Letter of Credit or Bond payable to the City of Springfield. A 100% Performance Bond and Labor & Materials Bond shall be required from successful bidder. Surety bonds will only be accepted from Surety companies licensed by the State Division of Insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth.
Site Visit: A site inspection will be available to potential bidders on Friday, June 16, 2006 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at three locations, a representative sample of elevators the City has: City Hall, Putnam High School and Kiley Middle School. Bidders will meet at The Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management- Facilities Division 233 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. The contact is Shaun Phelan (413) 787-6280.
The conditions of employment and minimum wage rates as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under the contract. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates as per MGL Chapter 149, Sections 26-27G.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
