at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement. The City of Springfield is seeking bids from qualified contractors to enter into an agreement to provide services installing ethernet cabling and installation of classroom telephones at seven school building locations. Estimated cost of the project is $250,000.00. Bidding procedures are per MGL Ch. 149 and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfield-ma.gov beginning on March 25, 2026.

It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on 4/1/26 at 9:00 A.M. starting at South End Middle School (36 Margaret Street, Springfield, MA 01105) and progressing to the other sites, resuming 4/2 if necessary. All questions regarding this IFB must be received in writing by the Office of Procurement on or before 4/3/25 by 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts DLS Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
