10-185 - RFP: For Home Visit Project

The City of Springfield School Committee is seeking the services of a qualified contractor to conduct home visits to families of students in the Springfield Public Schools.

Representatives will work together with designated staff and partners of the Parent and Community Engagement Division to prepare, plan, set-up, and conduct home visits, with a focus on Latino families as part of the family Education Department Home Visit Program. Additionally, they will meet monthly to debrief with the Family Education administrator. The estimated cost is $60,000.

The Proposer shall submit the following information:

1. Knowledge of the Springfield Home School Visit Project and the partnership.
2. Extensive experience working with community resource partners.
3. Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Work-based Learning Plan as a workplace competency evaluation tool.
4. Knowledge and experience navigating the school system and the community.
5. Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student and family population base.
6. Excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing) and ability to maintain strong relationships with Latino parents and students in the Springfield Public Schools.
7. Examples of partnerships with the Springfield Public Schools

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase at least seven business days prior to bid opening.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
