75 - IFB: Lease of Camp Wilder
End date: Tuesday October 3, 2006 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield, acting through the Park Commission, is soliciting proposals from interested and qualified summer day camp providers to manage, operate and maintain the grounds and facilities known as Camp Wilder, as a first rate camp and educational center for a lease term of ten (10) years. The contract is for ten years, with five (5) optional years at the sole discretion of the City of Springfield. The services to be provided include management, maintenance, operation and improvement of the grounds and buildings in accordance with a formal management agreement. The successful proposer shall operate Camp Wilder for use by the general public with well trained personnel to conduct public educational programs and leadership activities, while also providing support services to insure the physical and mental welfare of the participants through a schedule developed with advisement from the Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management.
The management services will commence on May 15, 2007 and end on September 2007 or on the date thereafter when the formal management agreement is executed for 2007. Minimum bid offer is $20,000.00 per year.
A site visit will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 1482 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129, at the pavilion @ 10 am. Bidders may contact Mr. Deryk Roach, Park Planner at 413-787-7432.
Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. EST Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Department of Purchase. If at the time of the scheduled IFB opening, City Hall or the Purchase Department is closed due to uncontrolled events such as fire, snow, ice, wind, or building evacuation, the IFB opening will be postponed until 2:00 p.m. on the next normal business day. IFB will be accepted until that date and time.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
