At which time the Proposals will be privately opened and read. RFQ documents and specifications will be available beginning on October 6, 2021 through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com, during normal business hours.
Designer to provide professional design and potential construction administration services for the design and oversight of school playground replacements in the City of Springfield, Massachusetts. Selection of a Designer will be made by the Designer Selection Panel of the City of Springfield, in accordance with all sections of M.G.L. Chapter 7C, as amended by Chapter 165 of the Acts of 2012.
The Owner is seeking designs, specifications and construction documents for the above-mentioned project work, and continuing through the bidding and potential construction administrative phases, including final closeouts and warranties should the project progress to this stage. As a part of this RFQ, the designer selected will be required to coordinate all of their project scope and work with other designers previously hired for other building systems work at the location. All work to be performed will be subject to the approval of the Project by the Springfield City Council, as recommended by the Department of Parks, Buildings, & Recreation Management (DPBRM), and further subject to adequate funding authorized by the Owner.
All interested parties should attend a briefing session/site walk at the Facilities Management Building- 233 Allen St. Springfield MA 01108(Total time estimated to be 1-1/2 hours) on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
The Project Cost for this potential Project is estimated to be approximately ten to fifteen million dollars with variance depending upon the project scope as agreed upon by the Owner and that are ultimately approved by the City of Springfield. The Fee for Basic Services is expected to be range between 8% and 10% of the project cost and will be negotiated.
All Proposals becomes the property of the City of Springfield. The Chief Officer reserves the right to reject any and all proposals if it is in the best interest of the City to do so.
