The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management – Facilities Division is seeking bids from qualified firms to enter into an agreement for the replacement of existing corridor and stair door leaves and hardware on all three levels.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on May 7, 2025, publicly opened, forthwith online.

The City of Springfield, invites electronic bids from Prime Contractors through biddocsonline. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.” Estimated cost of the project is Three Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($380,000.00).

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 1170 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104 scheduled for April 17, 2025 at 3:30 PM. Contact: Rafal Toczko, RT Architecture, Inc; rtoczko@rt-architecture.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available April 9, 2025 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on 4/30/25 in order to be considered. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
