at which time the bids will be publicly open and read in the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested services, to submit bids to enter into an agreement to provide renovations to Barrows Park Playground, Oak Street and Walnut Street, Springfield, MA 01105. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.

Project includes demolition of existing playground, site work including drainage, earthwork, and cement concrete paving, installation of paved base for owner-furnished playground surfacing, and installation of owner-furnished playground and site amenities. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $135,000.00. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com (during normal business hours) beginning on May 22, 2024.

It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on May 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM on site. All questions regarding this bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than June 5, 2024 by 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
