The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management – Facilities Division is seeking bids for improvements to Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy including installation of sediment & erosion controls; curbing; fencing; cement concrete pavement; bituminous concrete pavement; drainage; earthwork; artificial turf field; electrical work; lighting; irrigation; site restoration and landscaping. Estimated cost of the project is Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00). This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on May 31, 2024, publicly opened, forthwith online.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 1300 State Street, Springfield, MA 01104 scheduled for May 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Contact: Veronica Price, GZA, Inc; veronica.price@gza.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on May 23, 2024 in order to be considered.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available May 15, 2024 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
