at which time the bids will be publicly open and read in the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested services, to submit bids to enter into an agreement to provide improvements to Venture Pond, Springfield, MA 01109. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.

Work includes construction of site improvements to a publicly accessible parcel on Venture Pond, including fishing deck, kayak launch, paved walkway, reconstructed stormwater outfall headwall, and associated landscape restoration. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $185,000.00. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com or in person at the Office of Procurement (during normal business hours) beginning on March 6, 2024.

It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on March 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the corner of Charlton St. and Collingwood Rd. All questions regarding this bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than March 20, 2024 by 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
