The City of Springfield, through its Department of Capital Assets and Construction, is seeking electronic bids for boiler replacement and associated work at the following Springfield Public Schools from Prime Contractors and Filed Sub-Bidders through biddocsonline. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “HVAC.” Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed, and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on March 6, 2024, publicly opened, forthwith online.

Filed sub-bid for the trades listed below will be received until 2:00 PM on February 28, 2024, and publicly opened, forthwith online.

Bid 24-158 – The work at Rebecca M Johnson School includes replacing two (2) existing hot water boilers with new high efficiency condensing boilers, venting and combustion air upgrades, disconnecting and reconnecting boilers, electrical power related to the disconnect and reconnection of the boilers, boiler controls and associated gas piping, plumbing sump pumps, related fire alarm, hot water circulating pumps and sump pumps. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $1,300,000.00. It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on 2/14/24 at 10:00 A.M. at 55 Catherine Street., Springfield, MA 01104. Questions must be submitted electronically through BidDocs Online at www.biddocsonline.com by 4:00 P.M. on February 21, 2024, for filed sub bidders and by 4:00 P.M. on February 29, 2024 for prime contractor bidders in order to be considered. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
