THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com.
The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management is seeking bids for improvements to Alfred M. Glickman Elementary School including installation of sediment & erosion controls; bituminous concrete pavement; drainage; earthwork; installation of owner-supplied playground equipment, prefabricated pavilion, and furnishings; fencing; coordination with Owner’s poured-in-place safety surfacing vendors; site restoration and landscaping. Estimated cost of the project is Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($550,000.00). This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on October 11, 2023, publicly opened, forthwith online.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 120 Ashland Street, Springfield, MA 01119 scheduled for September 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Contact: Anja Duffy, GZA, Inc; anjaduffy@gza.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on October 4, 2023 in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
