THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com. The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management is seeking bids for the renovations of the existing kitchen at Warner School. The construction project will include site-work, plumbing, electrical, and heating and ventilation.

The City of Springfield, invites electronic bids from Prime Contractors and Filed Sub-Bidders through biddocsonline. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.”

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00PM on May 19, 2022, publicly opened, forthwith online.

Filed sub-bid for the trades listed below will be received until 12:00PM on May 11, 2022, and publicly opened, forthwith online.

Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below, and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement.

Estimated cost of the project is Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000.00). The Sub-
Bidders will be required to pay State Prevailing Wages whenever applicable. This project is subject to the City’s Responsible Employer Ordinance.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for May 3, 2022 at 9:00 AM. Contact: James Hanifan, Caolo and Bieniek Associates, Inc; JHanifan@cbaarchitects.net with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on April 20, 2022 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167). Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail-handling costs.

Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on May 4, 2022 for filed sub bidders and by close of business on May 11, 2022 for general bidders in order to be considered. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates may apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
