at which time they will be publicly opened and read via teleconference. Call in Number: (413) 784-4951, ID# 312372#. Bid forms will be available on the City’s website, www.springfieldcityhall.com on May 12, 2021, under the “Available Solicitations” tab.

Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 section 39M. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety AND Davis Bacon Wage Rates shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract.

BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED THRU THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be providing the City of Springfield with an official contractor bid list for all contractors that are prequalified in the specific class of work, under Highway Construction category with a single contract limit at or above the dollar value of the project. The prequalification office will also provide a list of those contractors who have been granted a waiver by the prequalification committee to bid the project. If company/firm requesting bid documents is not prequalified under “Pavement Markings” bid will be given out for informational purposes only.

Project Scope: Work includes milling and paving of public arterial and residential streets, the construction of concrete sidewalks, driveways and handicapped ramps, at various locations within the City of Springfield. Estimated total cost of the three base bids and alternate bid in the project: $3.98 million.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement no later than May 26, 2021 by 4:30 P.M. to Katie Vegh at kvegh@springfieldcityhall.com . The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
