Bid No. 20-118 FURNISHING AND APPLICATION OF HOT ASPHALTIC CRACK FILLER (POLYESTER FIBER)

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 section 39M. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety AND/OR Davis Bacon Wage Rates shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM EST on April 28, 2020, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The work shall include the cleaning and sealing of construction and random cracks in bituminous concrete pavements, vegetation removal, sterilization of cracks, and associated work on various public streets within the City of Springfield. All labor, materials, and equipment shall be furnished by the contractor. All work shall be in conformance with the City of Springfield’s Department of Public Works standards and specifications, and of the latest version of the State of Massachusetts Department of Transportation standards and specifications, as noted.

Project is estimated not to exceed $200,000.00. The work shall commence on May 4, 2020 and be completed by May 25, 2020. BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED THRU THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be providing the City of Springfield with an official contractor bid list for all contractors prequalified in the specific class of work with a single contract limit at or above the dollar value of the project. 5% bid bond is required from all bidders.

Bid documents and specifications will be available beginning Wednesday, April 8, 2020 through the City’s website on the Procurement Department page at www.springfieldcityhall.com.

The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by April 21, 2020, 4:30 P.M. in order to be considered (contact; ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com).
