Bid No. 18-138; Central High School Door Replacement

Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on May 8, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Central High School Door Replacement. The City of Springfield Massachusetts (the “City”) through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management (“DPBRM”) is seeking bids from qualified firms to perform replacement for select exterior doors at Central High School, to be performed during summer vacation period. The City will test the areas for asbestos and provide those results to the Contractor. Estimated cost of the project is $50,000.00.

A Site Visit has been scheduled for 4/19/18 at 11:00A.M. on-site at 1840 Roosevelt Avenue (as listed in Central Register Document. Further Site Visits can be made by appointment (Contact: Matthew Dovell- (413) 787-6582).

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on April 20, 2018 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by 4/27/18 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates may apply. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
