Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 18-137; Springfield Flood Control System Annual Maintenance Plan 2018

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 §39M as amended and other applicable statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on May 30, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement Bid Room.
Project Scope: The City of Springfield is looking to bid annual maintenance of the flood protection system. The base bid will brush cutting, herbicide applications and repairing nuisance wildlife burrows. Alternate bids will be accepted for repairs to concrete floodwall surfaces, tree removal and rip rap installation. Estimated cost of the project is $1,000,000.00.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for download at www.biddocsonline.com on May 16, 2018, (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by 5/23/18 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply to the scope of services. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
