Invitation for Bids No. 18-130; On-Call and Emergency Electrical Work

at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning March 29, 2018, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting. The services included in this bid will fall under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other applicable procurement statutes. All Bidders must be DCAMM certified in the following trade category: Electrical.

The City is seeking Contractors to furnish all necessary supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to supply, install, and repair existing electric equipment, and if appropriate, install new electrical equipment at various City sites and in compliance with the Scope of Services. The services will be in various municipal and school locations throughout the City on an as needed basis as determined by the Facilities Department and will be for less $50K per project.

The City intends to award up to Five (5) potential contracts to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder(s). The estimated value of the contract(s) shall not exceed $250,000.00 per year. The initial term of this contract will be for One (1) year, but will include Two (2) one-year in length renewal options, to be exercised at the City’ sole discretion.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement by April 10, 2018 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Office of Procurement reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
