Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract and Filed Sub-Bid contracts are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.”
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on March 28, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Sub Bids will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 12:00PM on March 21, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Renovations of two former art rooms into two new general science classrooms at the Duggan School. The project will include the following; renovations to include new finishes, new plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems for the rooms. Project also includes adding air conditions in two additional classrooms. Estimated cost of the project is $800,000.00. The Filed Sub-Bidders must be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the following categories: Acoustical Tile, Resilient Floors, Painting and Coating, Plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
A Site Visit has been scheduled for 3/14/18 at 11:00A.M. at Duggan Middle School, 1015 Wilbraham Road, Springfield, MA 01128 (Contact : Jim Hanifan- (413) 594-2800. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for download at www.biddocsonline.com on March 7, 2018, (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by 3/14/18 (FSBs) and 3/22/18 (General) at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates may apply. This project is governed by the City of Springfield Responsible Employer Ordinance. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
