Invitation for Bids No. 18-074; Scheduled and On-Call Pool Repairs and Maintenance

at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning December 6, 2017, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting. The services included in this bid will fall under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other applicable procurement statutes.

The City is seeking Contractors to furnish all necessary supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to provide swimming pool equipment repairs and services for Ten (10) School pools and Two (2) Outdoor pools, under the supervision of the Facilities Division. Monthly maintenance, yearly maintenance and emergency maintenance will be required and the selected vendor will be responsible for providing all equipment and supplies.

Only One (1) contract will be awarded from this IFB. The estimated value of the contract(s) shall not exceed $50,000.00 per year. The initial term of this contract will be for One (1) year, but will include Two (2) one-year in length renewal options, to be exercised at the City’ sole discretion.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement by December 13, 2017 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
