Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30§39M as amended and other applicable statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM EST on November 15, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Project consists of improvements to two (2) City-owned properties, adjacent public streets, and sidewalks. Site improvements include restoration of a historic fountain, setting of Owner-furnished granite and bronze fountain elements, brick pavement, cement concrete sidewalks, stamped bituminous concrete pavement, granite curbing, site lighting, and installation of site furniture, plantings, and irrigation. Estimated cost of the project is $1,500,000.00.
An optional Site Visit has been scheduled for 10/18/17 at 9:00 A.M, on-site. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Contact Anja Duffy at (413) 726-2116 for questions regarding the site visit.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on August October 10, 2017 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.
Contractor must agree to pay Davis Bacon or Prevailing Wage rate whenever applicable. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. The City of Springfield REO applies to this project.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by October 25, 2017, 2017 at 4:30 P.M. (contact; ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com). The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
