Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30§39M as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM EST on March 23, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Renovation of four City-owned water spray parks. Work includes but is not limited to site improvements include careful demolition of bituminous concrete pavement at existing water spray parks, reuse of certain water spray elements, installation of new Owner-furnished water spray elements, new cement concrete pavement within renovated water spray play area, peripheral bituminous concrete walkway, installation of new water spray controllers, site drainage, water utilities improvements, and site restoration.

Work will be done at: Adams Park (372 Wilbraham Road), Kenefick Park (336 Plainfield Street), Barrows Park (100 Oak Street), and Forest Park (333 Sumner Avenue). Project is estimated not to exceed $310,000.00. An optional Site Visit has been scheduled for 3/15/18 at 9:00 A.M, on-site at Adams Park. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on January 31, 2018 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.

Contractor must agree to pay Davis Bacon wage rates whenever applicable. Project is HUD/CDBG funded. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. The City of Springfield Responsible Employer Ordinance applies.
