Interior Painting at Van Sickle Academy

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on August 11, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Estimated cost of the project is $50,000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.
The City of Springfield is seeking bids for Painting at Van Sickle Academy. Contractor will be responsible for establishing a sequence of work to ascertain that all the labor, materials and equipment progress smoothly and on schedule. Painting will begin during the summer break period and will be completed by the end of the summer break period. Work includes but is not limited to all wall surfaces are to be painted excluding wood and metal trim, ceilings and flooring.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for August 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. on site at Van Sickle Academy (1170 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104). Contact: Matthew Dovell; 413-787-6582, with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.
The IFB may be obtained beginning July 28 2017 electronically by contacting Theo G. Theocles, Esq, Deputy Procurement Officer, via email at ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com between the hours of 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Questions must be submitted in writing to the City by 8/4/17, 4:30 PM in order to be considered. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
