Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter30§39M as amended and other applicable statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on June 8, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Estimated cost of the project is $110,000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.
Athletic Field Improvements at STEM Middle Academy. Work Includes, but is not limited to improvements to an existing 21,000 sqft athletic field, including sediment and erosion controls, clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage, landscaping, and irrigation. The project includes a bid alternate for sodding in lieu of seeding.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for May 31, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. on site at STEM Middle School (60 Alton St). Contact: Matthew Dovell; 413-787-6582, with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for download at www.biddocsonline.com on May 17, 2017, (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by 6/1/17 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
