Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on May 12, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Estimated cost of the project is $85,000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.

The City of Springfield is seeking bids for the removal and disposal of existing VCT flooring, cove base and installation of new sub-floor, VCT tile and cove base. The flooring space to be replaced for this bid is illustrated by the attached document. The City will specify colors of new VCT based on generally available materials in sufficient time ahead of the project start date to accommodate necessary lead times. Work is slated to begin the last week in June 2017.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for May 3, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. on site at Commerce Middle School (415 State Street). Contact: Matthew Dovell; 413-787-6582, with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.

The IFB may be obtained beginning April 27, 2017 electronically by contacting Theo G. Theocles, Esq, Deputy Procurement Officer, via email at ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com between the hours of 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Questions must be submitted in writing to the City by 5/4/17, 4:30 PM in order to be considered. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
