Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on June 9, 2016, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Project consists of floor finishing at the Gerena School Tunnel. Work consists of removal of existing VCT flooring and levelastic flooring compound, as well as grinding, polishing, and sealing. General Contract must be DCAMM certified in the “General” category. Detailed plans of the area will be distributed at the site walk and will be available from the email address above. Estimated cost of the project is $100,000.00.
A Site Visit has been scheduled for 6/2/16 at 11:00 A.M. On-site at the Gerena School in Springfield. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Custodial coverage equates to $35 per hour. Current custodial coverage provided by the City will be from 7:00am to 11:00pm. Any additional hours needed to meet the end date and start of summer school date must be paid for by the contractor. The City will assist in the permitting function and arrangement of this coverage. The contractor will be required to pay the fee and fill out the application provided by the City.
Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning May 26, 2016 in person or by contacting the Office of Procurement during normal business hours or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by June 3, 2016, 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
