Request for Qualifications for Architect/Engineer Designer Services for Upgrades to Interior Finishes at the John F. Kennedy Middle School

Per RFQ# 16-100, Department of Capital Asset Construction with the Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management

At which time the Proposals will be privately opened and read. RFQ documents and specifications will be available for in person during normal business hours at the Office of Procurement beginning on November 13, 2015 or through the City's website; www.springfieldcityhall.com for no charge.

The City is seeking the design services of a Massachusetts licensed architect to provide designs, specifications and construction administrative services through the design development, construction document, bidding, construction, and closeout phases of this potential project.

The scope of services include the removal and replacement of all suspended acoustical ceiling systems within the building the removal of any environmental concerns above the ceiling line, replacement of, and installation of new energy efficient ceiling lighting and systems, and a new fire alarm system throughout the entire building.

The Design fee will be negotiated, and is not to exceed 10% total Estimated Construction Cost for this project, which is estimated to range from $1.5 to $1.75 million dollars depending on the solution that is agreed to between the City and Designer, and approved by the City Council.

All interested parties should attend a briefing session/site walkthrough at scheduled for Tuesday, Nov ember 17, 2015 at Kennedy School, (Total time estimated to be 1-1/2 hours, or 2:00pm to 3:30pm.). All Proposals becomes the property of the City of Springfield. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to reject any and all proposals if it is in the best interest of the City to do so. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts.
