Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract and Filed Sub-Bid contracts are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on July 30, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.


The City of Springfield is seeking bids for the addition of new hand sinks within classrooms and support spaces. Work to include concrete slab removal, plumbing, new floor slabs and floor tiles at the Gerena School in Springfield. Estimated cost of the project is not to exceed $27,500.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages or Davis Bacon rates whenever applicable.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for July 22, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Gerena School, 200 Bernie Avenue, Springfield, MA 01107. Contact: Jim Hanifan at jhanifan@cbaarchitects.net with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on July 15, 2015 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).

Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.

Al questions must be submitted in writing and sent to the Office of Procurement in order to be considered. All questions must be received by the City by July 23, 2015 before 4:30 P.M. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals.
