15-254 - HVAC Replacments at Three City Schools

Bid No. 15-254: Boiler Replacements at Zanetti School, South End Middle School, and Glenwood School

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contracts are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, "General Building Construction."

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on June 19, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Sub Bids will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 12:00PM on June 12, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Replacement of existing hot water heating boiler at Zanetti Montessori Magnet School. Replacement of existing steam boiler to hot water boiler and replacement and renovation of existing distribution system and terminal units at South End Middle School. Replacement of existing steam heating boiler with new steam heating boiler. Replacement of existing pumps and controls at all three schools. Filed Sub-bid trades include HVAC and electrical.

An optional Site Visit has been scheduled for June 3, 2015, at 1:00 P.M., at 50 Morison Terrace, Springfield, MA 01104. Contact: My-Ron Hatchett at (413)784-4748 with inquiries concerning the site visit.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for download at www.biddocsonline.com on May 27, 2015 for a deposit of $50.00 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167). Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement by June 4, 2015, 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield REO M/WBE rules apply to this project. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage and Federal Davis Bacon Wage rates may apply.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
