Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes and reflects the changes of Chapter 193 of the Acts of 2004.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on December 18, 2014, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The project is for the furnishing and installing of approximately 440 auditorium style seats for the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Springfield. City is seeking qualified contractor to furnish and install fixed seating in accordance with specific product and installation specifications. Chairs are to include self-rising seat mechanism, upholstered seats and backs, standard floor mounting with aisle and center standards.

Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category; "General Contractor." Estimated cost of the project is One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00). A Site Visit has been scheduled for 12/11/14, 2014 @ 10:00 A.M., 1385 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield MA. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available Thursday, December 4, 2014 at www.BidDocsOnline.com (may be viewed electronically and hardcopy requested).

There is a refundable plan deposit of $50.00 per set for each project (maximum of 2 sets) payable to BidDocsOnline Inc. Deposits must be electronically paid or must be a certified or cashiers check.

The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
