The City of Springfield is requesting proposals to sell and redevelop, 136 Walnut Street the property is visible from the street and sits at the intersection of Walnut Street and Pine Street. The property is one mile from Interstate 91 on ramp.
The property was foreclosed by the City on March 26, 2012 by tax title. The Judgment was recorded April 5, 2012 in Book 19198, Page 404. The building, formally used as an automobile repair shop, was built in 1909. The property sits on the corner of Pine and Walnut Street with a total area of approximately 11,321 square feet. The parcel is also enhanced by a one story building. The parcel # is 11952-0035 and is zoned for Commercial A with onsite parking with an assessed value of this property of $94,900.

Those visiting the house must sign an indemnification agreement prior to entering and should be prepared with sturdy footwear and flashlights for each person entering.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
