SPG 14-061 - PA: Tree Removal Services

Bids will be available on August 28, 2013.

The solicitation package will be available online at www.comm-pass.com (may be viewed and downloaded electronically) or picked up in the Office of Procurement, 36 Court Street, Room 307, Springfield, MA 01103. Bidders may contact the Comm-Pass helpdesk at 1-888-MA-STATE.

Trees are located in various sites throughout the City on the tree belt or other City owned properties. Work under this item includes removing and proper disposal of trees as directed by the City Forester. The contractor must possess ISA or MAA Arborist Certification.

The City hereby requests sealed bids for tree removal services for the period September 15, 2013 to August 31, 2014. The City reserves the right at its sole discretion to renew this Agreement for an additional two (2) one year (1) year terms. The estimated total cost is $200,000.00/year.

A Bid Security in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount bid must accompany each bid. Certified or bank checks only, letters of credit or bonds accepted. Bonds must be from surety companies licensed by the Commonwealth of Insurance to transact business in Massachusetts.

All Bids shall be in conformance with the provisions of Chapter 30 section 39M of the Massachusetts General Laws.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement at least seven business days prior to bid opening.
