13-057 - Containerized Solid Waste & Recyclables Collection Service

The City of Springfield is seeking bids from qualified and experienced firms for containerized Solid Waste and recycling collection and disposal services") for multi-family residences with more than three units, commercial properties, and properties owned by non-profit organizations within the City.

Bidders will be evaluated on their experience, track record, capacity, ability to provide the requested performance bond, and the price of the Services.

All haulers who collect solid waste and/or recyclable material from any building in the City of Springfield must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Bid documents and specifications will be available at www.COMM-Pass.com on August 6, 2012. Please refer to the bid number and the opening date when inquiring. This bid is subject to M.G.L. c. 30B.

All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourages the use of minority and women-owned business enterprises ("MWBE") and expects a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty (20%) percent MWBE participation.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
