11-280 - Request for Proposals for Custodial Services at Springfield School Buildings

The RFP documents and all specifications will be available at www.BidSync.com on Monday, February 28, 2011. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30B.

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit sealed proposals from qualified vendors for custodial services for DPBRM (Facilities Division). The selected vendor shall furnish all the services, all labor, supplies, equipment, personnel and management to clean the listed Springfield Public School Buildings to specifications of the RFP. The contract is estimated at $4,000,000.00/year. The initial term is for one year with an option to renew, at the City\\\'s discretion, for two additional years in one-year increments.

Site visits will begin on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the following locations and times: 1st Kensington Elementary School, 31 Kensington Avenue, Springfield MA 01108 9am - 10am; 2nd Van Sickle Middle School, 1170 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01101
10am - 11am; and lastly at Central High School, 1840 Roosevelt Avenue, Springfield MA 01109 11am - 12pm.

All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourages the use of minority and women-owned business enterprises (\\\"MWBE\\\") and expects a good faith effort to comply with the City\\\'s goal of twenty (20%) percent MWBE participation.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
