11-045 - Four (4) Manual/Automated Side Loader Refuse/Recycling Trucks

The purchase of four (4) units, Low Entry - Cab Forward Chassis with Tandem Rear Axle and Body. Estimated cost of unit each unit is $260,000.00.

Delivery of these vehicles is critical. For that reason, we have included a penalty clause for late delivery. The four (4) units will be delivered ASAP. The bid price will include delivery of the completed unit(s) to the City of Springfield Department of Public Works located at 70 Tapley St., Springfield MA. 01104.

Quoted delivery date in excess of 180 days may, at the City\'s option, be cause for the rejection of the bid.

A 5% Certified Check, Letter of Credit or Bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 100% Performance Bond shall be required from successful bidder. Surety bonds will only be accepted from Surety Companies licensed by the Division of Insurance to Transact Business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject and/or all bids and to waive minor irregularities and/or formalities as it deems to be in the best interest of the City.

This Invitation for Bids is in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 30B.
