10-028 - Services: New Exterior Stairwell and Enclosure

Project consists of construction of and enclosed stair tower,with metal pan and concrete stairs. New access doorways from each floor an exterior double doors are to be included. Roofing to be single ply PVC membrane. Excavation, fill and rough grading to be included. Minor electrical, ductwork, and piping to be included to tie into original building systems. All permits for work to be included in pricing. Additional information site visit on 7/30/2009 at 1:00 pm at the former Kasparian Development Center, 60 Alton Street, Springfield, Mass.
The estimated cost of the project is $85,000.

All questions regarding the specifications of this request or of the process of this procurement shall be addressed in writing to the Chief Procurement Officer and received by the close of business on August 3, 2009. City will respond to all questions by Thursday, August 4, 2009 Facsimile communications are acceptable.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 10 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
