10-012 - Professional Engineering Services for Boston Road Corridor Improvements
End date: Tuesday August 25, 2009 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield Department of Public Works wishes to engage engineering firms for the design of roadway and traffic improvements for 1.33 miles of the Boston Road corridor. Six months for Phase I & II and one year to complete design.
The CITY seeks to retain an ENGINEER to provide engineering services involved in the design of roadway improvements and traffic control for the Boston Rd. corridor to improve traffic flow and safety, corridor aesthetics, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, utilities/lighting, bus/emergency vehicle operations and parking. The design will include a low priority preemption system to be used by the PVTA Express Bus service and a high priority preemption system to be used by emergency vehicles along the corridor. The construction phase of the project will be funded using a combination of Federal and State Funds through MassHighway and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Estimated cost of the construction is $7.8 million dollars.
MASSACHUSETTS HIGHWAY QUALIFICATION IS MANDATORY.
A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on July 28, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Department of Public Works, 70 Tapley Street, Springfield MA 01104.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase business no later than June 29, 2009 by 4:00 P.M. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
