435 - City Wide Litter Barrel Collection & Disposal Services

The City of Springfield,acting through the Chief Procurement Officer of the City, issues this Request for Quotes to parties who have an interest in providing the City with solid waste collection from litter barrels in the City on behalf of the City.

The City hereby requests competitive sealed bids for submittal on May 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM EST, unless extended by the City at its sole discretion.

The Contractor will be responsible for the collection of 205 litter barrels located throughout the City on a weekly basis on Fridays.

The City's goals and objectives of this RFQ are as follows:

• The City is interested in receiving proposals from companies that have demonstrated experience providing solid waste services comparable to those described in this RFQ with a community comparable to the City of Springfield.

• The contract value is $24,999.00. That is the extent of funding available for this contract.

• Through this RFQ, the City seeks to reduce the costs of collection services, while maintaining the levels of service and the quality of service.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
