283 - Services: Consultant to Provide Assistance with SOMWBA/DBE Certifications

The City of Springfield is soliciting bids for a consultant to provide SOMWBA (State Office of Minority & Business Assistance Agency) and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise)training services to women and/or minority owned businesses in the City of Springfield.

The City is requesting a consultant to assist minority owned businesses by providing technical assistance in becoming SOMWBA and (DBE) certified and providing technical assistance to help women and/ or minority businesses respond to procurement opportunities offered through the bidding process by the City of Springfield.

The contract period shall be from March 1, 2009 - June 30, 2009 but may be extended at the sole discretion of the City. Estimated cost of project not to exceed $25,000.00.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
