241 - RFP: Striving Readers Project Co-Director (C.C.O)
End date: Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield School Committee wishes to obtain the services of a qualified contractor to assume the duties of Project Co-Director (CCO) for the Springfield-Chicopee Striving Readers Initiative (SR) made possible by a 16.5 million dollar U.S. Department of Education (ED) Grant. The purpose of the initiative is designed to raise the reading achievements levels of adolescents in schools with significant numbers of students reading below grade level. The grant provides resources to implement whole school and targeted literacy interventions for students in all five schools.
The participating schools are: Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Chicopee High School, High School of Commerce, High School of Science and Technology, and Roger L. Putnam Vocational-Technical High School.
The position of Project Co-Director (CCO) will be in charge of overseeing the activities of the Striving Readers grant in all five participating schools. The Project Co-Director CCO has three specific areas of oversight. They are: Overall Project, School Focus and Grant Management.
Estimated Cost of Project Director is $72,000.00 year. Timeline for this position is March 1, 2009 to February 28, 2011 with the option to renew. The City hereby requests competitive sealed proposals in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, § 6.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase seven business days prior to bid opening.
The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
