2 - RFP:Systems Designer Contractor,School-Assignment/Student-Transportation/District-Wide Data-Integrat

End date: Monday July 28, 2008 at 2 p.m.

The School Committee of the City of Springfield wishes to obtain the services of qualified contractor to act as a Systems Designer for the Springfield Public Schools Department. The contractor shall be responsible for conceiving, designing, specifying, testing, de-bugging, deploying, maintaining, and documenting software applications. In addition, the contractor shall be responsible for the coding, testing, and deployment of said software. The contractor shall be responsible for project management duties, and shall submit periodic and ad hoc reports to the School Department.

The proposer shall submit evidence of the following qualifications:
• Exemplary organizational skills and past program and supervisory experience
• Thorough understanding of Springfield School demographics and organizational challenges
• Minimum five years experience in project management

The term of the contract shall cover the time period between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009. This contract shall include an optional renewal for a second and third year. The estimated cost is $200,000.00 per year.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
