77A - RFP:Systems Designer Contractor

Request for Proposals for Systems-Designer Contractor, School Assignment/School Transportation/District-Wide Data Integration Systems Development.

The School Committee of the City of Springfield wishes to obtain the services of a qualified contractor to act as a Systems Designer for the Springfield Public Schools Department. The contractor shall be responsible for conceiving, designing, specifying, testing, de-bugging, deploying, maintaining, and documenting software application(s). In addition, the contractor shall be responsible for supervising the coding of said software by dedicated project-staff resources which shall be provided by the Springfield Public Schools Department. The contractor shall be responsible for project management duties, and shall submit periodic and ad hoc reports to the SPS Chief Information Officer.

The term of the contract shall cover the period between December 15, 2007 and June 30, 2008.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Department of Purchase no later than seven (7) days (December 3, 2007) prior to deadline for proposal submittals.

The Acting Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
