75 - Installation of Three Condensate Knock Out Gravity Drains at Bondi Island Landfill
End date: Thursday November 8, 2007 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield Department of Public Works is going out to bid for the installation of three gravity drains for condensate knockouts at the Bondi Island Sanitary Landfill in Agawam, MA.
Three existing landfill gas condensate knockouts will be modified by installing gravity drains and removing the existing pumps, wiring and conduit from the electrical panel to the knockout and existing force main piping. All materials removed will become the property of the contractor. The new gravity drains with gas tight penetrations will be installed at three separate locations and total approximately 80 lineal feet of 3 inch HDPE pipe.
Estimated cost of the project is $15,000.00. This project is being bid in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 30B, Section 39M.
A 5% certified check, letter of credit or bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 50% Payment bond shall be required from successful bidder. A letter of credit will be considered from successful bidder in lieu of bonds. Surety bonds will only be accepted from surety companies licensed by the Division of Insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
A schedule of labor rates issued by the Division of Occupational Safety of the Commonwealth are included in the project manual. The Wage Rates, Labor Requirements and other applicable conditions are noted in the Project Manual. Wages are subject to minimum wages as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Sections 26-27G, inclusive.
All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourages the use of Minority and Women owned Business (MWBE) and that the City will not enter into an agreement with any provider of goods or services who has not demonstrated a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation.
The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. The city of Springfield reserves the rights to reject any and all bids in part or total. All questions regarding the specifications of this request or of the process of this procurement shall be addressed, in writing to the Chief Procurement Officer at least seven business days prior to bid opening. Facsimile communications are acceptable.
